About Us
Our staff & volunteers
We, at code4nature foundation, believe we can save the eviroment by smart technology. As a comunity of IT specialist and ex-goverment workers, we have joined forces to create a team serviving the nature as our End Client. We offer software and IT related serviced to different NGOs and Goverments that fight for environmental causes that have the potential to save our air,waters,forests and wildlife.
Our history
It all started in 2015,when a group of entuziastic volunteer believed that something needs to be done with the illegal logging in Romania. So a few computer engineers envisioned a system that would solve this problem. And we did it. Today the system is running and has curb illegal logging by more than 60% in that country.
Our mission
We want to save the world and we are ready to code for this as much as we need to.
Our Projects
Traceability System for Romanian Logging Industry
In 2015/2016 Code4Nature has design and implement with the Romanian Goverment, a unique,game changer tracebility system for the Wood Industry. The system called Forest Inspector, is able to follow the logs starting the harvest area and all the way to the sawmill and beyond. For the first time, we were able to propose and implement a huge amount of transparecy, where the citizens become part of the project. We design and implement a mobile phone app where one could check automatically the legality of a wood transport. It has been downloaded by 30 000 people in the first 10 days of it's launch.
Upcoming Projects - THE ORIGIN PROJECT
Starting 2017 we have engage in creating a first of it's kind system to trace raw materials around the globe. The purpose of this system would ultimatly allow any individual or company to be able to know with high accuracy(GPS location) where a certain raw product came from. We will start by testing it in Peru as early as Q2 of 2017,Brazil,Gabon and Honduras in 2018 and others will follow.
